best ocr software these days?

back in the day i remember it was Xerox Textbridge Pro vs Caere Omnipage Pro. now i see there are several free utilities also. this is in an office environment: who is the best these days?

I know some of the other analysts have used Omnipage Pro here. But the main app. we use is AnyDoc Software.

hmm, i guess i dont know how expensive ocr software can get, but i'd say best under $500

Both Textbridge and Omnipage were bought out by Nuance. I believe that Omnipage Pro (now in version 17 with a retail price of $500) is built on the old textbridge engine.

I've heard good things about ABBYY FineReader, but I haven't used it myself.
