Best O/C for my E4500?

Hello,

I've been tweaking my E4500 to get the best O/C possible and came with those two (2) possibilities, which one do you think is best?

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L BIOS F8
RAM: Patriot Extreme Performance PC2-6400LL
CPU: E4500 CPUID: 06FD, Core M0

1)
FSB 350x8 (2.8GHz) @ 1.365 vCore, RAM 700MHz CAS 4-4-4-12

2)
FSB 333x9 (3GHz) @ 1.4685 vCore, RAM 800MHz CAS 4-4-4-12

Both settings are rock stable. Stability tested with Orthos and Super PI.

I tried to make it run @ 400x8 (3.2GHz), but it wouldn't boot even with a vCore of 1.5.

So, which overclock wll give the best performance? I think it would be the second one, but I want your opinions.

Top core speed is the most important variable with the core2duos. I'd go with (2) if temperatures are reasonable. Maybe 2 in the winter and 1 or stock in the summer? Depends on your needs and environment. Don't you also lose some of the energy saving features when you change the multiplier? I don't remember but some boards do.

be interesting to try 400x7... but i agree that clockspeed is the goal... try to drop your mem timings a bit if u have to run the mem below its spec...

i have a 4500 that won't boot over 266 fsb, and it needs 1.425 to get to that... tried in a couple different boards... a bit weird... darned intel and their lousy chips!!!

Why lower the multiplier? I'm running 11x300 on my E4500 with my 800Mhz CL4 RAM at 1000Mhz CL5. Runs at 1800Mhz while idle at a cool 33 degrees with fans at minimum.

It probably won't boot at 400FSB because of NB voltage. Bump it up a bit

My E4400 runs at 280x10, at default vcore.

Push it up as high as you can with stock voltage on the stock multiplier. Then start looking at either reducing the multiplier while increasing the fsb higher or adding a little juice to the vcore and/or northbridge.
