I'm helping a friend install a new Asus ti4200 card to his Win98SE system this weekend and am looking for opinions on the most stable / most compatible nv drivers to use for everything from quake2 and unreal1 to UT2K3.

I'm still using the 21_83 drivers in my 98SE gaming partition just because I haven't had any problems with them and my gf3 card, but I'm guessing the Asus's CD or the latest 44.03 nv reference drivers would make more sense :)

I've found quite a few game related issues with the 4x.xx series drivers under 98. Some versions don't like UT2K3 at all and Need For Speed Highstakes will not work with any of the 40 series.

I use 30.82 and they are pretty much bulletproof for game compatibility wise under 98se. Under XP I use the latest 40 series whenever they are released.

I agree ,just use latest 44.03 drivers from Nvidia.com.

I would also run Driver Cleaner 1.9 to remove all traces of the old drivers from here .
