Best Nvidia card for under $250.00

Going to be building a computer for my father soon and wanted to know what the best card would be under $250.00
He does'nt game often but he does have a few Microsoft simulators (Train and Plane)

I just don't want a crap card going in that computer and having to upgrade the next year. Something halfway decent like the 6800GS would be fine. Is there anything better than the 6800GS under $250.00 ?

7800GTs can be found for around that 250 mark now that the 7900GT replaced them and they are a decent choice if you can go PCI-E
