i have a budget of $5000 and i need the best notebook i can get, for games, and photoshop, what is the best one i can get??? toshiba?
hp? sony?? dell?? which one???

I would strongly reccommend that given those goals and you budget that you get an IBM A22p and ignore everything else. The 1600x1200 screen is beautiful, it comes with a 32GB 5400RPM HDD (most laptop HDDs are 4800 RPM) and has a 1GHz PIII. I have an A21p (every spec is the same except it has a PIII 850MHz instead of the 1GHz). Granted, the A22p does not have the new GeForce2 Go video chip and instead relies upon an older ATI Rage 128 Pro based chip, but the IBM is still a very easy bet for the best high-end laptop available. IBM builds the some of the most robust laptops in the world (I won't say the most robust because there are a few companies making specialty laptops that have a half-inch thick steel casing), and IBM tech support is second to none in my experience. I love my A21p and would not give it up even for a state-of-the-art desktop. I have no qualms about unconditionally reccommending the IBM A22p for your needs. Link to A22p page.

EDIT: The IBM A Series is a higher end machine than the T Series. I would not suggest the T Series (designed for travel and portability) over the desktop-replacement A Series in your case.

1) HP Omnibook xe3 PIII800
2) IBM A Series
3) Apple Titanium PowerBook(I am a PC guy but this Apple is great)

Please don't go for Toshiba, they're not as good as before.
