If the games are too old for no-CD cracks, just make an ISO of them on your HD and mount them as disc images. It should be easy to do as they won't have any modern DRM. I did this for X-Wing and TIE Fighter.Originally posted by: Crow550
Really? I'm having a heck of a time with Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 Triple Thrill Pack & Roller Coaster Tycoon 3: Platinum....

Why? Using no-cd patches is fine by AT last I checked.

Yea you own the game so nothing illegal.

I'm actually pretty sure the anti-circumvention portions of the DMCA make no-cd cracks quite illegal.

I use Alcohol 52% to make images of my discs, old and new alike, so that I don't have to worry about swapping discs in and out, losing discs, or having them get destroyed somehow. Takes up a little space, but storage is cheap anyway. Way easier and safer (and I guess more legal) than cracks.

I've never once seen this work on a copy protected game. If I try to run Oblivion or Ghost Recon from an mdf/mds or cue/bin image it just tells me to use the real disk and try again. Oblivion was such a wise and beautiful woman about copy protection that it wouldn't even let me install the game until I removed Nero.
I should probably include that it's still a good idea to rip images of these. The game may need a crack to run properly, but you can still install the game from a disk image. I've taken this a step further and now I'm also backing up game patches, cracks, and even install files for things like Firefox. It makes it so much easier to get the computer up and running from a fresh Windows install when all of your programs and games are ready to go like that.

You should try using YASU. I had issues with some games until i started using it.
Medieval II and AOE:III come to mind.

This is thin cover indeed for discussion of pirated software resources.Originally posted by: Crow550

If you own the game then you can copy it for yourself or mount it on your hard drive or use a no cd patch.
