Also, another good N64 game is Rogue Squadron (though the GameCube version is way better)

Handheld games? I guess you can consider those consoles too, but I always considered console and handheld different types of platforms.

There were handheld versions. They may or may not fall under your definition of "console".
 
Castlevania 64

I never knew it, but after the initial favorable reviews, this game apparently got panned. My friend and I still loved it though.
 
What was the Jet-Ski game? Waverunner or something like that. That one was fun.

I also liked Killer Instinct.
 
Banjo Tooie was awesome. The level that alternates between fire and ice has the best theme music of any level in video game history (the rest of the game is awesome too, it's not just the music, but thinking about it always reminds me of the music).
 
Majora's Mask trounced the crap that is OoT.

I'd add Episode 1: Racer, Rogue Squadron, Wave Race 64, F-Zero X, Mischief Makers, and a few others to the list, though.

While you may dislike OoT (And I am a huge Zelda fanboy) that doesn't mean it is crap. Majora's Mask wasn't anywhere near the ground breaker that OoT was nor did it have as good of a story.


To add to the discussion, Paper Mario is excellent and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.

Goldeneye isn't on VC because someone else owns the James Bond rights now, and the developer is owned by Microsoft. To release it, Nintendo would have to get permission from the current James Bond license holder (pretty sure it's EA, but not positive), and from Microsoft/Rareware... and probably have to pay royalties to both of them. I can't see them deeming it to be worthwhile.

Mario 64
Mario Kart 64 (the best MK made, although I've not played it on Wii).

I used to have that game. It was pretty cool but it did have its problems...

Anyways, OoT was the fucking shit, hands down.

Donkey Kong 64 as well. I had a freakin' blast playing that game. God, I miss it. I lost my expansion pak that goes with it.

Starcraft 64? Lol.

You cant tell me you played the CD-i based ones, can you? 😀

I never beat majoras mask either. It was only because that damned time limit. Im trying to go back and do it, but its very slow work.

I always liked the Vigilante 8 series, though it may not rank up there with all the other top tier games.
 
The Banjo games were pretty awesome, I remember Banjo Tooie had some pretty great graphics for it's time (including dynamic shadows). Conker's Bad Fur Day is also priceless.

Ocarina of Time is still one of my favorite games of all time and possibly my favorite N64 game, the game was so incredible, even today it's an amazing adventure, Majora's Mask was good too but it was kind of weird, all the transforming and the world itself didn't feel very Zelda-like though the return of the Overworld theme was pretty great I thought the game was pretty deserving of it's original "gaiden" (sidestory) codename.

Phantom Hourglass on the DS was kind of fun but I really expected 3D Zelda gameplay, not some dumbed down version of 2D Zelda, I didn't finish the game because I couldn't stand the constant trips to the Ocean King Temple.

But I digress, another excellent N64 game was GoldenEye but I doubt the game would hold up well today (except for the nostalgia factor).
