I use Giganews (mostly for alt.binaries.howard-stern and alt.binaries.howard-stern.repost) and am pleased with it. 10 GB/mo for $11.95.

Easynews has an awesome service, fast servers and a very handy web interface. You can get an extra 2gigs/month if you run a seti like program united devices.. I used Easynews and Astraweb, I got unlimited gb's with Astraweb for $15.. not as good of servers as easynews but pretty good for the money

I used easynews in the past, wasn't a bad service. that 6GB doesn't count the message headers. I recently got the giganews comcast account set up. They allow 1GB/month, and it seems like 1/4 of the transfer limit is wasted on headers. Also the easynews web-based broswing is great.

I've had usenetserver.com for about 9 months now ($39.95/3 months unlimited download) and while I've had problems with missing articles and such, can't beat the price and speed. I use Charter's crappy 128k bandwidth limited newsgroup server for fills when I need to.

How long does astraweb hold their binaries for? Are there lots of missing articles and things like that?

8 to 9 days. It is very rare that parts are missing. Right now, I am using EasyNews as a backup solution for missing files but hardly ever use it so I might cancel my EasyNews account soon.

newsfeeds is nice but kinda a hassle. I like newshosting.com its $20 for 25 gigs or $30 for 50 gigs. I've gotten 30 Mbps with 10 threads open.

What kind of speeds are people getting on Astraweb? I have Giganews now and I get 300+KB/s.
