Best prices + retention rate. Binaries of course. I use Giganews but I am wondering if there are any better deals than $12 for 6GB/m
 
i always liked easynews...i think its $10/10gigs.

hella good retention, every binary group, super-duper fast.

i just didnt use it enough to justify $10/month
 
Giganews is $2/GB? I hope they changed their price recently and I've been grandfathered, or I'm not gonna like my CC bill this month 🙁 (just discovered elemental trance)
 
Easynews. $9.99 for 10 gigs/month
i believe their retention is the best, better than Giganews.
 
I was on easynews before. Looks like I am going back. I think Giganews changed their prices recently or you can get cheaper prices if you pay per year.

That if you pay for a year in advance and IIRC the only way they do it now. If you were around for the old pricing scheme you can still pay that:

1GB/month US$7.95
6GB/month US$11.95
8GB/month US$15.95
12GB/month US$22.95
16GB/month US$29.95
25GB/month US$44.95
50GB/month US$79.95

On a month-to-month basis.
 
My isp (Charter Communications) uses Supernews and it's free and unlimited 🙂. It's capped at 16kb per a thread though
 
I use UsenetServer $40 for 3 months of unlimted downloads. Retention is almost 3 weeks. For example, on a.b.dvdr, there are 3 million headers that date back to Jul 20. And almost all of it is still complete.
 
I use usenetserver as well.

Best I've found. I used to use Astraweb, but they capped their downloads at 2mb. UNS doesn't.
 
UseNetServer looks like a good deal, 13/m (prepaid for three months) unlimited. I like Easynews but don't want to hit my head on the 10GB ceiling. Thanks everyone.

A ranking of the major providers.... Usenetserver is pretty good, but it looks like Newshosting is better. I have accounts with Easynews and UNS, and I like them both, but I might switch to Newshosting after seeing that list...
