Hey I just started sort of drinking. I had some Hard Cider but the taste was TERRIBLE! What are some good tasting drinks for us newbies? Oh yeah, i'm 19, so it's not like i'm a 12 yr old or anything :)

Drinks made with rum usually go down smoothly. Ease your way to vodka, then tequila. Then, all 3! Yay! :)

i started on whiskey and tequilla at age 15 and didn't know what a chaser was. Damn was i dumb. My advice for you, stick to beer. Its much better, you wont get sick, and when you get good you can learn the art of funneling =). I'm only 17 so i'm giving you this advice from a teens perspective. Just make friend with someone who can hook you up whenever you need it and explore the different beers. I like the budweiser kinds but hard cider tasted good when i tried it, don't know what happened with you. Just avoid hard liqour at first or you'll end up praying to the porcelin god a few times like i did when i started.

Try a double (or triple) shot margarita - still has that sweet taste but you can definetly feel the sting of the alcohol

I would suggest Mike's Hard Lemonade. Has the kick of an average beer and tastes pretty good. It's got the reputation for being a chick drink, but it's good for a beginner.

Mike's Hard Lemonade or Smirnoff Ice...they're pretty tasty and have the same alcohol content as a beer

Ahh... remembering the old times. I started in highschool with Southern Comfort and Mountain Dew. I wasn't smart enough at the time to actually mix them, I would take a swig from the pint then immediately chase it with the Dew.

The thought of that now makes me wanna hurl. The only thing I drink now is beer.

Have fun, but always remember.......alcohol can kill you. It damn near did me. That's why I don't drink anymore.

I'm not trying to be a spoilsport, just urging caution. -kd5-

mikes and smirnoff are expensive and unnecessary for teenagers. Get yourself a case of budweiser and plow thru it.

Sluggo, I love scotch as well but there is one thing to remember. You either love scotch or you think it is the nastiest thing on the face of this earth. There can be no in between. If you decide to persue wines however, start with a White Zinfandel. It's basically Kool-Aid laced with alcohol! But please! No boxes or screw top wines! Step away from the Franzia! :D

Start getting used to beer....It might not taste all that good in the beginning, but you'll start liking it. Captain and Cokes are pretty good as well...

smirnoff ice, tastes just like sprite - dr.peppers are pretty good too, a little strong though - other than that just start drinking beer - I personally like ice cold miller lite - for hard liquor try bacardi 151, it's sure to make you *burn* for more ;)

Hornsby's Cider... get the "normal" kind, not the hard.

Boone's Farm apple wine isn't bad either.

The best newbie drink? Beer. It's got enought zip to get you drunk, but not enough to kill you very easily.

If you haven't had much drinking experience, DON'T hop into hard alcohol. Two reasons. One you have no clue how much you are consuming. And two, you'll have no tolerance and you will be completely plastered in no time flat.

Beer is the way to go. You'll get drunk, but you'll passout before you drink enough to kill yourself.
