Best new CPU for my Abit KT7A?

Currently running a Duron 600@832, and would like to move up to a good overclocking Duron or Athlon I could use in current mobo. Would like to stay under, or just slightly over, $100. NewEgg seems to have a number of candidates that fit this range. Knowing what to avoid would be almost as good a knowing what's good.

A related question: NewEgg is my favorite supplier, but I've seen some truly insane (1/2 NewEgg) prices on some goodies from OverclockzStore. Know anything about them?

If you can swing it, go for the 1700+ OEM for $115 and free shipping (funny, it's the same price as the 1600+).
Make sure you have a good HSF. Doesn't need to be too fancy or expensive, think of the $11 Thermaltake 6cu as a minimum (or PM me if you want a noisy Globalwin WBK38 w/delta fan for $10 plus shipping).

Make sure that your revision of the KT7A can handle an XP. Check at http://www.abit-usa.com, and download the latest BIOS if necessary.
If your mobo can't take an XP, go for the Tbird 1400 stepping AYHJA for $99 bucks.

/edit: avoid OCZ, they have a bad rep.
