RULE #1: Anything goes except for Minivans and SUVs and Pickup :) I guess that leaves sedans and coupes...

RULE #2: Preferably MSRP and not invoice price with rebates etc etc....

RULE #3: WRX not allowed...."It doesn't look good", she said.

I need to go car shopping with my gf this weekend...

Well if its for a girl it makes a bit of a difference... they tend not to rev the engine real high and race and such.... so maybe just get her a Honda. Accords are nice.

Check out the VWs. A base Jetta or Golf can be had for that price I think. Or get her the ultimate chick car, the Cabriolet!

Let her know you don't see much of the outside when you are driving it... then test drive one and see what see thinks about it after that.

Jetta's are cheaper...I got a 2001 GLS VR6 auto, no leather stickered at under 23...unless they went up....nice car BTW...she'll love it...my girl does..plus I think the V6's come with 210 ponies..not too shabby :)

Check out the Lancer EVO.

I've been waiting for years for them to bring it over to the states. Now I just have to save up the money. It's a beautiful car, very fast, and is everything I've wanted in a car since I started looking at cars years ago.

Altima, best bang for the buck, for sure...

She might rather drive a jetta 1.8 gti though, those are also sweet... Go for one of these and you'll be happy...

Infiniti G20 --- very nice, and you don't see them "as" much as many other cars in that price range. I know a lot of people have them now, but my family has bought Infiniti's for 10 years now and rarely have problems with them -

Toyota Matrix doesn't have real AWD... it only engages when traction is lost... that's a BAD thing... so that means a default to the 180hp. Enjoy!

If you don't mind the "inconvenience" of a roadster and want a fun car... Toyota MR2 Spyder, you can even get the SMG if "she" doesn't know how to use a clutch. The RSX TypeS is slow... Altima's good... you can almost afford an Audi A4...

<< Check out the Lancer EVO >>

Unfortunately, not only is the Evo VII not out yet in the states (2003 as a 2004 model)... it'll be outside of his price range at 28-29K.

You're talking about the Lancer OZ-Rally edition?

BAhahahaa! Oh wait... Why am I laughing? Oh yea. Bwhahhahahaaaaa... 4 cylinders at 120hp. If you wait a bit, you can catch the real lancers.
