Best NCAA scoring system

I don't like too much of a bonus for upsets and should only give bonus for upsets in the first round. In the past i have divided the upset over the favorite (16 over 1 is 16 points, 15 over 2 is 7.5) and that has worked out well, but i cant find an online site to do that

what system do u guys use?

I agree completely with you! I like the bonus but it's too many points for an upset. The pools I've used don't allow a fraction of that to be applied though..

yep, every place i see usually ends up subtracting them, at least thats the closest i have seen, but then if you have a team losing in the 2nd or 3rd round, there is no reason to pick them to win the first round.

i usually do it by hand, but its annoying

I use:

1 point for first round, multiply seed
2 points for second round
4 points for sweet sixteen
8 points for elite eight
16 points for final four
32 points for championship game

That way, each round has the same number of points, and you give people a little nudge to pick upsets in the first round, to spice things up a bit.

so in that one, if you pick a 12 over a 5, you get 12 points? more than picking the the 5 to go to elite eight?
