I can't wait for UNC to be the only ACC team to be in the sweet sixteen. UCLA FTW!

On a down year for the ACC and one of the better years for the Pac-10, the ACC is still ahead of it in the RPI. I only watch the ACC / SEC so I can't say much about the Pac-10 but I think the ACC is the best conference even in a down year.

Yeah, people who think Pac 10 isn't strong must not watch College Basketball, or only watch east coast stuff. Don't laugh at Pac-10 hoops if you don't even watch the sport. Top to bottom Pac-10 is definitely the best conference in college hoops right now. I probably wouldn't put UCLA in the top 4 in the nation myself, but the conference overall is the best. What the heck have you people been watching? My Arizona Wildcats won 19 games this year and their 7th in the Pac.

Florida State has won 19 games and they are in 9th place. I think the ACC is something like 8-3 vs. the Pac10 heads up. That being said, I wouldn't necessarily place the ACC ahead of the Pac 10... but those are definitely the top two.

Florida State is in 7th place, out of 12 teams. That being said, ACC might be the best conference. I think NC and Duke would probably both beat UCLA without much trouble. I just think it's dumb how a few people have scoffed at the idea of the Pac-10 being the best. I don't think any conference stands head and shoulders above another, they're all close this year (all the big ones anyways).

Depending on who leaves, the PAC-10 can have a bunch of first rounders:

Arizona - Bayless, Budinger
ASU - Harden
Cal - Anderson, Hardin
Stanford - Lopez x 2
Oregon - Leunen
UCLA - Love, Collison, Westbrook
usc - Mayo, Jefferson, Gibson

Possibly 14 first rounders out of the PAC-10 if they all leave this year. Some may stay (Harden, Budinger), and others are borderline first rounders (Hardin, Robin Lopez)....but there is no denying that there's A LOT of talent in this conference.

College coaches have been the first to acknowledge the tremendous amount of talent in the P10 this year.

NBAdraft.net (who's been better than most with the accuracy of their mock drafts) has the following, with a very TENTATIVE/EARLY list:
Brook Lopez, Soph C (Stan) - #3 to Memphis
Jerryd Bayless, Frosh G (Az) - #4 to Seattle
Russell Westbrook, Soph G (UCLA) - #8 to Indiana
OJ Mayo, Frosh G ($C) - #9 to Charlotte
Kevin Love, Frosh C/F (UCLA) - #16 to Philadelphia
Darren Collison, Jr. G (UCLA) - #17 to Washington
Kyle Weaver, Sr. G (WSU) - #25 to New Orleans
DeVon Hardin, Sr. C (Cal) - #29 to Detroit

So there you have 8, including three Bruins (which I don't think anyone will dispute). No one has Cal's Anderson (P10 leading scorer) coming out, very few have Robin Lopez, James Harden, Chase Budinger of Arizona coming out, and Leunen won't be drafted but will sign as a free agent or go to Europe.

In the second round, that mock has Bryce Taylor and Malik Hairston of Oregon (seniors), Josh Shipp and Luc Mbah a Moute of UCLA (not sure if I agree that either of them comes out), Taj Gibson of $C (who'll have to come out when his grades come forward), and Derrick Low of WSU (senior). So that gives the conference 14 players in the 60 selections. Still, an impressive 23.3% of the choices, or almost one in four.

Collison is in about the best position I think, because he'll be taken after Westbrook, and he'll drop to a better team with a big need at the point, like the Celtics. Though DeVon also may be in the same circumstance and hook up with a team where he can learn the ropes but not be counted on as a savior.

I voted the Big East, but that's becuase i'm a PITT fan. But I do feel that that ACC is a tough conference. But they are tough for different reasons.
