All these music threads, but no mention of where to buy the cds, where the get the best bargains lie,
and where to find those hidden gems. Share the wealth, people.

Right now, I'm satisfied with cduniverse and have even turned to walmart,
for chrissakes!, to get some deals.

thanks.

comparing the two though (cdnow vs. cduniverse), cdnow comes up woefully short in the all-important
bargain dimension. comparing just a few artists (everclear, portishead, wilco, etc.) cdnow sells them on
average 2.00-4.00 more than cduniverse.

wilco's 'yankee hotel foxtrot' is on sale at cdnow for 16.18, while an enhanced cd of wilco's latest at cduniverse
is priced at 12.58 ! !

is cduniverse the best out there or what ? !

i think there is only one yankee hotel foxtrot and that's the enhanced...regardless that is an amazing album. i can't believe reprise dropped them cos it wasn't mainstream enough...idiots.

cheap-cds.com is a good one

These guys will kick the crap out of the bigger names. Plus they give you bubble gum with each order. Been using them for about three years, no problems, including returns and cancelling orders. Great all around. Good indie selection, too. Their Top 200 are only $9.90.

I'm kind of embarrassed to say it, but I buy almost all my cd's from Amazon. I can't believe it, but they have my tastes NAILED with their recommendations. It's fcuking scary. Books, movies, cds...I probably pour a couple thou into that site every year. Of course, I could always go there, rate all the cd's I own, look at my recommendations, then go someplace cheaper and buy them...but I'm lazy.

amazon is cool. i'll shop anywhere (on-line, at least ;)) that offers decent consumer protection,
hence why i stooped to consider walmart. some of walmart's prices were unmatchable.

cd now appears to suck. might as well buy the stuff direct from the riaa.

mymusic looks promising.

thanks for spun.com, half.com (forgotten about it), mymusic.com, and blastbeats.com.
