Best music cataloging software?

looks like it uses a proprietary database , no thanks

i don't know why there isn't a good/simple open source project for this

i think i'll just setup a mySQL DB and write some scripts to read the CD and query the freedb

there might be some links/info on catalogs at http://www.freedb.org/

Actually, I'm doing it for records ...

so I'l have to type most in, unless theres a database like OrangeCD
that pulls up info just typing in Artist/title. ..
