Best multiplay lan game ever is....... warcraft3 with a twist

Was at a lan party all last week, most of the lan went into playing Dota Allstars map for warcraft3.

Two teams, each player picks a hero from a selection of about 36 heroes, a total of 72 heroes!!

Each team has one computer player that only pumps out grunt units to attack the other team. Players gain xp from killing players and unit, level up, new powers, items to buy and also combo items.

I found the lycanthrope guy to be pretty damn powerful the game I tried him

and I know who I hate the most, Rikimaru, in the right hands he can fsck up just about anyone

lol, the silent assassin? hell yah he's wicked powerful and one of the most hated.

Lyncanthrope is a good hero.

TBH most heroes can own in the right hands. Among those without a hope are the Bane Elemental and the little skeleton with life drain as his ult. Probably more...

THere are many groups of heroes, those who excel early (Zeus), excel mid game (Lina, Crystal Maiden) and those which excel late game (Medusa, Naix). The best heroes are weak at no stage, lycanthrope is one of those. Naix for example absolutely sucks until mid game. SA can rock from lvl 6 on

You know, one thing I don't like about dota now is the mask of madness. It's a pretty abusive item, to the point where it's almost necessary to pick it up if your opponent(s) do...

they changed the silent assasin though in the latest version, no longer can he teleport all over, instead he gets a stupid pointless cloud thing that slows people and stops people from casting spells... but you can just run out of it and activate your spells, area isnt that big

but we played first the old version where the assassin had teleport and me and a friend got raped so badly

I'm still learning what items are good, only once gone for the mask of madness, usualy go for Helm of the Dominator, nice to pick up a friend on the way home for healing and then when you got enough attack with a surprise army

Been playing dota for close to 2 years now, since before the 5.x series. Riki is a cheap hero but easily dealt with. Wards and the gem nullify his invis and greatly reduce his chances of a surprise ward drop, not to mention the fact that his highest lvl ward is taken out in a few hits at the high levels. Blink is an ability for several heroes and while I agree that the fact he is invisible makes it better on him than the others, with good teamwork from just yourself and a teammate it's defeatable. One of you attacks, the other waits at his likely escape route (with sentry wards in place - 375 gold for three, come on, you can afford it) and destroys him when his blink lands. I disagree that he is overpowered, though he is extra crunchy and tastes good with ketchup.

Pah, what's 4 heroes?? iirc there are 72 in 84c, have you played that version? And isn't there some kind of lame must be in combat all the time or you lose hp slowly over time rule in place in the 6.x versions?

I suppose i'll have to play 6.03 to better argue with you

she must have been posioned, got killed quite often that way running away with low health
