I know I'll get flamed for this, but I was very impressed with the "car chase" in the Matrix Reloaded. Sure, there were some impossible-to-film CG shots, but the destruction and mayhem were fantastic to behold. Especially on the IMAX screen -- w00t!

The worst car chase? "The Sixth Day" with Ahnold

yeah, The Italian Job was a great flick.....many cool car chases.
Best ever would be in T2 with Arnold on the Harley.

I have to agree with Ronin. Gone in 60 seconds wasn't bad either, bur Ronin was way better.

Most car chases seem boring to me. There are only so many shots you can do with a camera (from front of car, top of car, behind car, inside car, etc, etc).

What blew my socks off were the flying car scenes from Blade Runner.

I have to 2nd:

Ronin
Bullitt
The Blues Brothers
The French Connection

A decent one in Lethal Weapon 3 (I think it was 3...the one with the South Africans smuggling gold coins)
Mad Max - but that's like the whole movie ;)

The one in the begining of T3 is pretty good too... (but the destruction just seems to get senseless at a point and then becomes funny and silly)

also t2 when the t1000 (i think) was chasing john connor and arnold had to come to the rescue wit his harley
