Best mousepad?

A mousepad has no function, just name the size/shape/texture you'd prefer and someone can recommend one, but there is no best mousepad.

I disgree. If you have a bad mouse, skates can greatly increase your gaming experience. But for the money, just get a logitech g5 laser or something.

i agree there is no best mouse pad..thers just cheap ones and expensive ones..hey dbtelos
 
I take it you came from hardforum? Welcome😀 True, one of the purposes of optical and laser engines was to eliminate the need for clunky mousepads, however if you still have a ball mouse or you surface is unsuitable, you might consider one. Or you could clean you desk... 😛
 
A quality mousepad doesn't destroy the mousefeet and allows your mouse to glide with little effort. I've been using cheap mousepads for years and just recently purchased a quality mousepad for $24. I use a MX-518 with an X-Raypad Thunder 8 on the smooth side. I have been extremely pleased with this particular mousepad and find it to be just the right size. It's similar to the Func 1030 but the base of the X-Raypad is sturdier. I've been using it for a few months now and it's as smooth as the day I bought it. I highly recommend this inexpensive mousepad.
 
I used a mousepad because I found that optical mice actually end up damaging wood surfaces after awhile, there would be little spots and lines from the tracking (I don't know about laser mice). Eventually they would get bad enough they'd be slightly rough and it would make the mouse skip.

Well my mousepad is really crappy 10 year old blue felt thing that slows it down so right now I'm using the wood desk again. I just need a smoother-surfaced pad, I had one but it had these patterns on it that messed with the optics. Not bad, but enough that when trying to do some precision aiming for a headshot it would invariably jump around a little.
 
The best mouse pad that there is, and will ever exist is the Icemat. Finely sand blasted glass that gives you increadible tracking and unparalleled smoothness.

A 40 dollar investment for life. Its virtually indistructable. And no I dont work for them, I just own one.
 
I think I still have my old Sparc station solid metal with grids mousepad. Used it over 10 years ago with an optical mouse for a sparc20 workstation. Now that was my best mousepad! The optical mouse needed the reflection and the gridlines to track. Was smooth and had great responsiveness.
