Best Mousepad for G7?

So I've been trying to look for a mousepad that fully works with my G7 and I've been leaning towards either an icemat edition 2 or a Func 1030 archetype. Problem is, there have been lots of mixed reviews for both pads because of the laser technology on the G7. Also, the reviews i've been reading are all outdated. Has anything been done to fix the problem with the mouse not registering on the mousepad? Thanks.

They aren't outdated, it's the sensor technology in the mouse that screws it up on glass surfaces. Look at a metal or cloth pad.

I use a Razer exactMat for both my G7 for gaming and my MX Revolution for other mouse work. I use the control side for both though I sometimes use the speed side with my G7 for close quarters combat in first person shooters. I like the solid feel of an alluminum pad.

i like cloth because of how long it lasts
i had the same 12"x10" cloth pad for almost 4 years until it wore so thin i needed a replacement
after that i tried some aluminum pads(wore marks)
some plastic ones(wore out in less than 2 weeks)
even tried an icemat(scratchy w/ teflon feet, cold, screeches when slightly dirty)
and just bought a big 14" x 17" cloth mat
idk....to me, nothing feels as good

Ok.. well my room mate has a G7.. his batteries weren't lasting long so he called logitech support. The representative from logitech said that in order to maximize battery life for the G7 you need to get a white mouse pad because black has some conflicting issue where it uses more battery.. I have NEVER heard of this, and was quite confused when they said this.

if you can kill pads this quickly you must be losing a small fortune in mouse feet replacement as well
