Best Motherboard to OC the new 8500

This will be my first time back into Intel in a long time, I have no clue on the motherboard situation here. Im about to build a system and most of my reading has been on other parts, so I figured I would go straight to the people who know with this.

Computer will be used mostly for gaming, but also some video work. Would like the most OC'able board that retains stability and a decent feature set. Would also like the price to around $150 or below, but if I have to make some sacrifices, I can do that.

From what I have read, P35 is what is hot right now, but then you deal with issues of 45nm support on an individual basis. Of the P35s, looks like Abit, MSI, and DFI all have nice offerings (How is this DFI compared to past boardS? I have the LanParty NF4 which was an amazing board for its time).

I dont know anything about the x38/48 boards, however.

I just got an ASUS P5K-E wifi and I'm very happy with it. It supports 45mm CPU's and has the P35 chipset.

x38/x48 is not worth it at this point. the P35 is the best out right now for stable overclocking. what is your price range?

LanParty DK P35-T2RS could really be something special (the NF4 Ultra-D for P35 Intel boards) considering it'd fill the gap between DFI's other P35/X38 boards with the BloodIron (~ sub $120) and other LanParty boards ($200 and up), but its not really in stock anywhere...

~$150 shipped, although OOS and unfortunately I'm not sure its ever really been in stock (note the comment on preorders)...

So that recommendation kind of ruins it depending on when you're planning to build.

Depending on what BIOS version you get, you may have to buy or borrow a cheapass socket 775 CPU to flash the BIOS... Good luck

Under $150, you don't have that many choices... right.

Abit IP-35E (now IP-35V)
Asus P5K-E/P5k/P5k WiFi
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L or GA-P35-DS3R
DFI Blood Iron
MSI Neo-FR/F/Platinum

Some of these motherboards also have Crossfire capability.
