I ma looking to get one of the new barton XP chips in a few weeks once they are more readily avaliabe so teh price cna level off some. I have a XP2000+ system that I am going to sell to my brother to recoup most of my costs. He wanted a new one so I told him Ill get a new one and sell him my mobo, ram and processor. (Mines about 3 months old). I have been looking but dont really see a consensus here as to who makes good motherboards.... Ive used alot of asus products so I would prefer to saty with them provided they have a good solution. Stability is much more important to me than getting the fastest thing out there.

Thanks in Advance.

I judt did a simular thing, I went with the ASUS a7n8x deluxe. It has 6 USB2.0, 2 ieee 1394, serial ATA, raid (serial), NVIDA 5.1 sound, dual channel DDR, and the NVIDA chipset is one of the very few that will support DDR 3200. It supports 200, 266, and 333 processors. I used it with the 2800 Barton and it worked great. Heres a like from toms. Here's a link from Toms Newegg has it for 145 w/ free shipping.

Ok, Last question... What type of RAM do you recommend?

I am gettign Crucial regardless..

512 of 2700 is 90 bucks.. Will that work or will I need the 3200 stuff?

I'm betting and byting on Abit newest Rev...Crucial 2700 will work fine as that's what these MoBo's call for (2700) and I suspect the 3200's are just set @ 1 lower Cas for now

Go for the A7N8X Deluxe :)

As for Ram, get pc3200 if you want to run it @ 2700 speeds albiet more "aggressive"

Newer and current Revs from Major Players are better IMO and how can 3200Cas3 be better the 2700 cas2.5 when using the same brand on a MoBo that wants Cas2 for optimal performance?
