which would be the best mobo for the amd athlon 64-fx53 processor. please tell with respect to best performance with overclocking also.

Get the Asus SK8N and try to find the beta bios that let you change the multipliers. The board doesn't have a PCI/AGP lock but if overclocking is your thing its the best socket 940 board for you.
