nForce3 does not have true SATA support, and has been known to have bugs, hence the reason it did not come with SATA or giga ethernet.

My fav Athlon 64 board is the.....

Albatron K8T800
It has the VIA Envy sound card, giga ethernet, TRUE SATA support, Firewire, etc.... All for only $122 shipped Newegg.com

what review are you refering to when you say "slightly better performance"?? everything ive seen either has the k8t800 and the nf3 as equal, or the k8t800 as a little faster

personally im leaning toward the asus k8v deluxe (it will probably be my next mobo) link i like how it has 4 sata ports and supports 6 pata devices (pata = traditional IDE)

Hmmm I thought it did have true sata support. Ok, best KT800 board to house my 64 3200?

the nf3 has "true" sata support, but its enabled by the use of a 3rd party controller. the problem with that is its on the pci bus which can really be a bottle neck

the k8t800 has sata built into the southbridge which gives it a direct connection to the rest of the system
