I have a 27 inch Gateway Destination Monitor (SVGA input only) and a regular 17 inch Acer.

I want to hook up both monitors (alternately - only one will be on at a time) with a switchbox to one computer.

Here are some switchboxes available. Click on "Manual and Auto KVM Switch Boxes". (Manual is fine.)

This was all I could find. Does anyone know what the best box (most simple and cheapest) that will adequately do the job? The description is poor on the site and I can't find any links to the mnaufacturer.

Basically, I don't want picture degradation (or else I'd use a Y-adapter).

One thing to pay CAREFUL attention to when choosing a switchbox:
What is the maximum monitor resolution supported. Most/all of the
cheap ones only support lower resolutions. If you're like me,
and you want to run your 19 or 21" monitor @ 1600x1200 (or greater)
you're gonna find slim pickins among the cheaper switch boxes...

Well, the Gateway is 800x600 and my Acer runs at 1024x768.

Can you tell from what is pictured on their site? Where else do I look?

I don't want to be cheap - perhaps I should have said "most economical" A-B switchbox.

At work we use a kvm from Belkin. They seem to work just fine. I could not find the exact one we use but it might just be an older model. A while back someone was trying to sell a belkin KVM on the for trade forum he may still have it?

Good luck

Thanks, glp1del.

I couldn't find the A-B switchbox I was looking for on their site (close but it will not support 17 inches and above monitors), so I e-mailed Belkin.

I'll also search the FS/T forums.
