Best Monitor For Price

I have an old 19" Compaq CRT that is dieing and I need to replace it for under $260. I am a coder and gamer, so I need a monitor that is very good with text, but also good with games. I've been looking at a ViewSonic G90FB because of the high refresh rates and flat screen, but my friend suggested that I should get an LCD because of the weight. So my question is: Would a CRT or an LCD be better and if so what?

Last year, I picked up 2 Samsung 19" monitors at Circuit City for $200 per, and they've been wonderful (when I'm using them).

I believe you can find a decent Viewsonic within that price range as well.

Get a Dell p991 19" Trinitron off ebay with a warranty. I picked up two for $60 and $20 respectively and they are excellent.

You can get a high quality CRT for under $230, personally I don't like viewsonic I would recomend a NEC FE991 or FE992

well ive had some good deals with viewsonic monitors in the past....but the NEC FE991 is xcellent!! i would highly recommend that one

In my search for an NEC FE991, the only price that I could find was over $260 with shipping. Also the reviews of the monitor at Amazon.com talk about a blank screen and white lines after 7+ months. Any suggestions about an LCD too?
