A good friend needs a monitor, price needs to be below $400 or so, what is about the best he can get for that much and where? Oh 19" or above, no 17". Any thoughts?

that depends on whether u're talking canadian figures or american (or other)...

if american, the viewsonic PF790 and samsung 900NF are one of the best performers for the money...

my retailer sells the pf790 for slightly cheaper than the 900NF...

another good one if u're not looking for aperature grill but flat shadow mask instead, is the 900ift (samsung)...dynaflats are the nicest flat shadow masks u can get...the lg flattrons are decent tooo

Consider Hansol 900D or P or their 17@ Dynaflat screen all are within or should be, your budget. I love this brand. I have the 2100A.

I went to Best Buy last week and saw a 19" Flat Screen Dx890f for $299.99. It is shadow mask and can do 1600x1200 @ 75hz
