Best modem under $50?

Title says it all. I don't care if its not a hardware modem. This USR External modem i got has some sh*t ping times.

I can get a US Robotics hardware modem 56k PCI for $70-75 Canadian. So that's around $45-50 US

SupraMax is PCI Winmodem, SupraExpress is ISA hardware controlled.

Is the Creative modem baster a winmodem? I've heard the PCI version is still a hardware one.
