best mod for BF1942? - looking for new game...

Hey all,

Been away from Desert Combat for over a year, but now that I try to start playing again I found that the FINAL client version (that is new to me since coming back to the game) just isn't stable on the same rig I used to play the .7 version of Desert Combat on.

Fileshack has about twenty mods available...but I don't have time to download and try each one.

So...what other BF1942 mods are good and have active servers? Anybody know the four most popular mods for BF1942?

Battlefield 2 is now pushed back to 2006, so there goes waiting for that game lol.

It's actually been pushed to between April and June of 2005 (their fiscal year is not the same as a calendar year).
