Best mobo for P4, DDR or RDRAM?

What mobo would be best suited for the either RAM standard... DDR or RDRAM? My friend is thinking of getting a P4 1.6A based system. He and myself of course, don't know which mobo would be best in terms of performance.

Go with Gigabyte 8irxp ddr, loaded with feature and highly overclockable.

The thread that you were pointed to is my thread... and I have already made the decision to go with an Intel i845 DDR motherboard.

RDRAM has slightly better memory bandwidth, but DDR is much more overclockable. For example, a P4 1.6a overclocked to 150mhz memory speed will actually have superior bandwidth than RDRAM 800 setups.

I didnt think the intel board had overclocking features on it. I might be wrong, but if it doesnt then your defeating your purpose

Sorry I meant Intel Chipset... as opposed to Sis.

I am probably getting the Gigabyte board.

i'd like to know since almost every p4 here use ASUS board.
i ordered MSI, and i'll let you know how's it doing.

I like gigabyte also, infact my first athlon 650 is on GA-7ZX
it's runs great but no OC feature, i have to give it up
when i got xp cpu and got the Abit KR7A instead.

Now, it's the time to give a chance to Northwood.
If gygabyte(845) is really superb than probably
i'd give it a try also, since it's still on my price range
unlike SOYO which is $215 retail at Newegg, too much!!!

Sandra, 3dmark2001, and how is it when you OC'ed it.
Easy setup, medium, hard. I thinks most people here
want to know also since there is lack of information
on P4 DDR mobo other than ASUS.
