Best mobo for i5-750 on a budget?

I'm looking to drop some of my old pieces such as my Mobo CPU and RAM in order to keep this rig going for awhile, need to get the mobo for about 100-110$ from newegg with the rest of my order. hopefully an OCable mobo?

What i've looked at.

MOBO:GIGABYTE GA-H55M-USB3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128429
CPU: i5-750
RAM: Gskill 2x1gig DDR3 1600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231185

Any tips on which motherboard would be the best fit for this order?

Any input would be appreciated!

What's the budget? with that said p55a-ud3 is a good board by gigabyte and cheap too. Post your budget so more people can help you and what you intend to use it for.

Budget is 400 to 420 max. with my other parts including aftermarket cooler it leaves me at about 100-110 for a mobo, maybe about 30-35 more than that if i don't get the aftermarket aircooler i'd planned on getting.

Looking at more of a mid-range gaming system. being able to run this years new releases such as battlefield bad company 2 at decent to high settings, that's my intention for this rig.

I have a p55m-ud2 and even with three missing pins on the socket it still works heh, granted their most likely not mission critical pins.

just picked up an asrock p55 pro -- testing i5 -750 at 4.0Ghz (200x20) right now. will update upon completion of fine tuning. 🙂

stupid question, but will an mATX board fit in a regular mid atx case? what am i losing out on when i go with an mATX setup? it can still fit all the video cards and HSFs out there right?

Yes it will work. You're probably missing out on a couple of PCI slots and maybe some fan headers (mATX board is smaller, so there's less stuff on it). Everything else should fit/work fine. Some boards have issues with certain coolers, but I think you'll have that with anything.

What's your vcore at 4.0Ghz?

TH fried 2 Asrock P55 Pros at 1.40vcore, after which Asrock came out with a bios update that added vcore over current protection which limits the MB to 1.35vcore.

my current vcore is 1.356 bios setting -- it can go higher though. i can't get cpu-z / everest to monitor vcore since i updated to the latest bios (p2.20). i read that article too -- definitely going to stay below 1.375 vcore for now! 🙂

Same here. It started with bios v2.0. The latest CPU-Z, v1.53.1 64 bit, sometimes will show vcore and sometimes won't.
Maybe it has something to do with how the stars are aligned that day, like today, because it's reading vcore, 1.325V bios, CPU-Z 1.312V idle, 1.320V Prime95 Large FFts. Vdrop Control set to Without Vdrop in bios.

i see that my ddr3 memory profiles are like that in cpu-z as well -- sometimes they're there and sometimes they're not! :\

Just wanted a bit of a sanity check here, I'm gonna upgrade my video editing rig from my X2 555 (now X4@3.83) to a Core i5 661 after CNY, primarily for the single-threaded efficiency it shows (for Virtualdub). I'd like to get a Gigabyte mobo, been looking at the P55A (recommended over the H55...?) and just wanted some feedback/input, or should I wait a little bit?
