I'm tryin like hell to pick a new mobo, but even after surfing for weeks and reading 30 some reviews, I still can't decide. I'd realy like to go with something built on the KT266A chipset. Although, the Iwill XP333 board using the Ali Magik chipset looks great for o/cing. This will be my first AMD system BTW.

I need the opinions of everyone to help me make a decision, there has got to be some AMD fans around here with o/c experience. Overclocking features are a must, especially 1/5, 1/6 pci dividers, RAID would be a plus. I will eventually unlock the cpu(when I work up the nerve), but I want to have the ability to raise the fsb without killing my pci/agp bus, I can't afford to corrupt a HDD.

This is what will make up the rest of the system, I have everything but the mobo-cpu-mem:

AMD XP 1800+
256Mb OCZ DDR PC3000
Gainward G3
SB Live X-Gamer
2x IBM 60gxp 40G 7200
Asus 52X CDrom
Acer 16X DVD
Antec SX830 case w/350W PS
4 Case fans(2 in, 2 out)
Water cooling

Thanks in advance guys :)

For pure overclocking(ie no RAID, no sound, etc), EPoX 8KHA+. If you need RAID, sound, etc, then go with Soyo Dragon+

Reviews are convenient, but I suggest that user-experiences are a more reliable indicator of what you can expect after making your board choice.

I found the board-specific forums at amdmb.com very useful when I was researching mobos. Find out what users experienced AFTER buying their boards.

I bought the Abit KR7A/RAID for the best combination of 4 IDE ports, excellent BIOS flexibility and decent overclocking.

That was then - the KR7A had few RAID-equipped competitors. If I were making that choice today, I think it would be the Shuttle AK35GTR.

Hope this helps!

I agree Dunkster, that's why I'm here asking you guys:) I need the opinions of people that have had these boards long enough to notice the little things about them.
