i'm going to build another PC in a month 'coz my wife and i always need to fight to decide who is going to use the only computer at home.
i have pretty much everything except the MB and CPU. i don't really catch up the new trend of AMD MB. what in my mind right now is MSI's KT333 Ultra 2/BR. what do u guys think? also looks like xp 1800+ has the best performance/cost ration, right?
any of your input will be highly appreciated!

p.s: i might try to play o/c a little bit. do u think my old Crucial pc2100 will work fine at 166 FSB? btw, my vid card is Visiontek Ti200. thx!

Well I dont know what's the price of the MSI right now, and dont know how much you want to spend on a mobo.
But I would go with a Epox 8K5A2+, KT333 mobo, has support for the new processors, USB2.0, RAID controller.
And if you plan to OC this is the best mobo out there IMO.
CPU I would say to get the XP1600+, you can OC to XP2000+ or even 2100+.
About ur RAM I know Crucial can go very far, but dont know how high, but I've seen ppl running 166 Mhz and over.

Good luck!

Posting in many places? The Crucial PC2100 will peak in the 150 - 155 range, about 15% above it's design, no sweat.

One of my friends has the soyo lite board with an xp1800 and its ok. its a KT333 i believe.
The xp1800 is definitely one of the best chips for the money by far. Just make sure
to get a decent heatsink for it and you should be fine. : )
