BEST: Minidisc player/recorder.

I saw a few posts here about minidisc vs. CD MP3 vs. HD MP3 vs. Flash MP3.

And I'm thinking about getting a minidisc. Reasons:
Size: very small
Battery Life: Awesome
Storage: only 70-80 minute cartridges available . . . but they are CHEAP, so no problem to have a whole lot
Recording: This will probably see some use at concerts, and, as I am told, minidisc+good mic. is the way to go.
Price: MD's available for 120.00USD vs. me having to hawk my soul and left kidney to get an iPod.
Coolness: I like the discs and the players more than other types . . I dunno why.

Ok, now the toughy: which minidisc player to choose?

I want one with mic in and line in.(and definatly must be able to record.)

So we have this one I'm looking at pretty hard availble for 180.00USD:

Sharp MD-MT90: http://www.sharp-usa.com/products/ModelLanding/0,1058,636,00.html

looks nice, has nice features (specifically the mic in + optical line in (my compy has optical line out, which I've never used.) It'll give me twelve hours of playback and 3 hours recording on a AA, 12/7 on the included NiMH battery.

I've never heard of a concert lasting more than 7 hours, and if that is the case, I'll just bring a 4-pack of energizers.

so, should I go for it? I found a deal that had them for 120.00USD but they've long since sold out?

Any other good ones?

might want to try the T-Station forums.

For basic recording, i think you're right about it probably being the best choice for recording. I just got rid of my Sony MD-Net. It was nothing but problems (software mostly). But since you're using it mostly for recording, should be the best option.

my friend hates his MD. you can get a 1.5gb mp3 player that's smaller, lighter, and holds about 6 times the amount of songs for only $50 more.
