Best mic/speaker combo for conference calls on PC?

Hello, I often do long several-hour long calls for my work on my PC. I currently use a headset with boom mic but it gets uncomfortable for that period of time. I also have an old Logitech mic but it doesn't pick up my voice nearly as well as the headset mic. I'm tempted to buy another mic and just use my PC speakers for audio but I'm concerned the party on the other end will just hear themselves echoed back through my mic. I wonder how conference phones in the office deal with this as they work really well. Is there a PC mic I can buy that will take care of this issue, or maybe some combined speaker/mic unit like how a conference phone is? Appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

Thanks, I'm looking for a regular desktop mic though, so that I don't have to wear a headset. So you're saying any noise-cancelling mic should take care of not feeding back speaker audio to the other party? What about these "uni-directional" mics I see, would that be necessary?

if you are stationary, an unidirectional is your best bet.
