Best method to rid my monitors of the faint but very annoying black schrolling horizontal lines?

Hello all.

Posted this in video but got no responses, could someone give me some insight?

I have a triple monitor display setup. Three monitors side by side. In WinME I have the option to set the refresh rates for my monitors to "optimal". This rids my monitors of the faint but very annoying black schrolling horizontal lines (one in each monitor) that I sometimes get in my two secondary 17" monitors but not my primary 19" monitor. (mostly noticeable in apps with light colored backgrounds).

When I tried upgrading to Windows XP Pro I immediatley noticed the annoying faint black schrolling horizontal lines. No problem I thought. I then go to my trusted fix but to my dismay, the option to set monitor refresh rates to "optimal" is not available in Windows XP Pro.

My question is, do I have to experiment with different refresh rates for each secondary 17" monitor and hope I finally fall on something that works or does somebody else know of a better way.

Thanx in advance.

Higher refresh rates should be better, but won't get rid of the problem. This can be caused by one of the monitor interfering w/ the other. Have you tried to run them separate to see if the problem persists?
