Thats all I can think of for the last several years. It has not been a good five years for metal.

I forgot about Disturbed, great band.

Whats the deal with Mudvayne? What albums should I start with?

You guys have a very loose definition of what qualifies as metal, methinks. Some of the bands listed here are "hard rock" at most.

I'm not into the "alternative metal" stuff that's been prevalent in the last 5 years. All the best stuff was 70s and 80s.

Iron Maiden "Brave New World"
Exodus "Tempo of the Damned"
Megadeth "The System has Failed"
Black Label Society "The Blessed Hellride"
Annihilator "Criteria for a Black Widow"

Did Testaments album "The Gathering" Come out within the last 5 years? If it did I would put that over the Annihilator album.

I won't classify anything as metal, hard rock, whatever. People are too uptight about thinking something is not metal or something is nu-metal, etc.

In the last 5 years I've liked songs/albums from these bands:

Offspring
Pennywise

A whole bunch more...

These two are punk.
