I'm afraid lots of things easily compare to AT anymore. Well, that is, compared to ATOT. The rest of the forums are more like one huge FAQ and can't really be considered a "community".

I think the biggest appeal to AT is the beneficial aspects of it... you can actually learn a lot here, rather than most of the other forums (anime? WTF can you gain from that?)
