Best memory for the buck

So I never had a problem with my ram until I upgraded the motherboad/cpu/gpu and now I have been having a weird shutdown problem, not sure if this will fix it but it is a route I am trying since all the others ways have been exhausted.

Anyway what would be the best/most economical choice for about a gig of ram for a chaintech VNF3-250 Motherboard with a A64 Socket 754 2800+ chip?

they do not come with heatspreaders. the heatspreaders are just for show.
