Anyone know what the best, fastest, most stable memory for this board is? Mainly for high end gaming. Maybe future overclocking if needed.

What processor are you going to buy? If OCing to outrageous FSB speeds isn't a priority: I'm running Mushkin Level II PC3500 with very tight timings (2:2:2-7). The only catch is, you need to bump the DDR voltage to 2.75 to get it to run at those timings. But that's the way this memory is. They even suggest this on their website.

Anywho, I love this memory. It will OC to a FSB of 458+ provided it gets enough juice. If you're going to be running without an OC, it runs at extremely tight timings as long as it gets the power it needs.

Then the Mushkin Level II PC3500 is perfect for you. Just remember on first boot to do this:

Go into the BIOS and disable the SPD settings for the DDR and set the timings manually (if staying at stock FSB, 2-2-2-6 will be fine), then up the DDR voltage to 2.75. If you don;t up the voltage, you'll have to set the timings at a very slow 2.5-4-4-8 or your system will be highly unstable. So setting the ddr VOLTAGE TO 2.75 IS CRITICAL if you want the tight timings that makes this RAM so fast.

Then disable legacy USB support. It has been shown to cause memory errors on this board, and is basically uneeded anyhow.

Do all that, and all will run smooth and highly stable. Not do it and your system will be unstable.

Also, because of voltage fluctuations in the vcore, I suggest you up the processor voltage a couple notches.

With my board set up like this, I can run Prime95 and SuperPi at the same time all day long with no errors. And I haven't had a single crash. Properly set up, this config is as stable as my old trusty 440BX :)

Just remember that version 23.7 of Prime95 has a bug in it that causes Windows errors. So if you want to do stability testing, try another earlier version, or the beta version 23.8.

Hope this helps :)
