Ok, I am sick of blank media that flakes or scratches or even slightly fades along the coating on top to ruin data I have archved for a couple years. I have begun the practice of burning 2 copies of everything I delete to avoid this problem. Maybe the media I am buying is too cheap, can someone make a good reccomendation on brands, or better yet, model number?
 
Yes, first of all get yourself a good Plextor CD-RW drive & the buy some high speed Imation or possibly Sony CD-RW CDs.

Edit: Also, use Roxio drag & drop software for archiving.
 
tdk has some that have a very strong anti scratch coating. its probably marketed under their extra tough line whatever its called
