I'm turning my dad's old Pentium D 805 computer into a media hub of sorts, and wonder what I should install on it. I'm open to either windows or linux solutions, but I already have a windows xp install/license (but I could go with MCE if convinced).
This is a tv-tuner less free set up so my directv will handle all PVR functions.
Here's what i'd like to do:
-Play xvids, divx, etc. (mkvs too, but I doubt my pentium d could handle it)
-Stream to an xbox in another room
-Watch hulu and netflix
If one app can do all that I'd be in digital bliss. Boxee for the mac kinda does that but PC/linux alternatives would be great
