Best meal to eat before an important test/exam?

I'm scheduled to take the GRE at 1:30pm tomorrow, and am wondering what kind of meal would be best to eat beforehand. There's a sushi place that offers everything 1/2 off on Saturdays from 11-2pm, but I'm worried I might eat some bad fish and get sick during the standardized tests.

Any good "brain food" recommendations?

also, i'm a big coffee drinker, so i usually have an espresso before class or exams. probably depends on how your body handles caffeine. if it gives you the jitters or make your mind race, than it'll do more harm than good.

How long do you think the exam will take? You might need some natural sugar (fruit) for immediate energy and alertness and some carbs for extended energy and alertness, like the bagel you mentioned. That ought to keep you going for a few hours.

Oh and how's the impaled foot? 🙂

I've always heard that bananas and peanut butter (not necessarily together) are good brain foods...no scientific backing of course.

Good luck, the GRE isn't that bad. I took it a couple years ago...did pretty well on the quantitative, awful on the verbal though. But I was applying to engineering graduate school so they didn't care much about the verbal.

The exam will take 3 hours. 🙁 There are a few minute-long breaks in between, so I can munch on things throughout the test. I'll pick up some fruit on my way home from work today.

Oh, and the un-impaled foot is doing much, much better, thanks for asking. 🙂 There's still a little ache, but the sharp, piecing pain is gone.

Eat something that contains choline together with vitamin B-5*.
