I just bought one that I like because it seems real straight forward. The name is Windows 2000 MCSE Study System. The ISBN number is 7645-4701-1. It covers the 4 core tests and has practice tests in it. Also has AVI files showing the labs you will need to do. I bought it at Barns and Noble for $89.00. Very thick book.

I have passed the tests by using transcenders and the exam cram books and nothing else. Got me through 4 core and directory services design. For my electives, exchange 2k administration and sms 2.0 administration i setup a lab though to get practical experience. The exam cram in my opinion are the best ones, but if you want more in depth books, go for the big sybase or microsoft press books.

I am using the Sybex now and I find it pretty good, though their documentation lacks when you get to the nitty gritty details of how to set something up. Nitty gritty details help out a lot when you are setting up your own home lan :| So I guess I would not recommend this book to anyone who is actually going to build the network to study with.
