Building a new system around quad core Intel 9550. I have used ASUS in the past with good results. I'm looking at the P5Q Pro.

Need at least one IDE for CD writer, other drives will be SATA. Need PCI port.

Don't need built in wireless.

Want to O/C to at least 3.4 with the new system.

Recommendations on motherboards and memory appreciated.

read forums and reviews for a board with low v-droop. I wouldn't think 3.4 should be a problem- people have been getting ~3.7 on boards such as 750i. what type of cooler are you going to use?
I'd get a mobo w/ a nvidia chipset so you can unlock the ram... then you could get w/e ram you'd like. Crucial ballistix is what I'm getting. The ddr2-800 supposedly has an epp for ddr2-1000 @ 5-5-5-15, and it runs @ stock 800mhz w/ 4-4-4-12 timings. I read many reviews reporting overclocked speeds of ~1140mhz @ 5-5-5-15 w/ 2.1V

P5Q Pro is a good choice, also Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P. Get some DDR2 800 rated at 1.8V, I recommend Mushkin.
