Best-made Ge3 Ti200?

What is the best manufactured Ge3Ti200? I?ve been a longtime Visiontek user since the TNT2 Ultra but I?ve had to return two now because of really loud HSF fans and a strange habit of occasionally giving me just a black screen right before the Windows log on screen would come on. It never does it twice but it?s really annoying nonetheless. I?ve heard good things about Gainward but have never used them myself ? and I have given PNY a try but never again ? Can I get some suggestions as to the best performing and quiet Ge3Ti200 out there? (I'm not concerned with overclocking, just stability)

I love my PNY GF3 Ti200! Great performance, looks really cool and I got a 20 buck rebate and a free stick of Infineon 128meg memory in the box! Plus a lifetime warranty. Why dont you like PNY?

I only had two cards by PNY, the Ge2 GTS and a preview of the Ge4 Ti4600; the Ge2 used to freeze completely, a problem that a Visiontek Ge2 GTS seemed to solve completely, and the Ge4-well, and for all I know this could apply to all the Ge4s out there, the performance, I?m sorry to say sort of sucks. It benchmarked higher than any card I?ve seen-more than 1300 points higher than a Ge3Ti 500 I had for awhile, but the actual game performance was not very tight, with frames dropping dramatically at the slightest onscreen action and chaos. If I was upgrading from a Ge2 or lower then I wouldn?t notice but being familiar with Ge3 cards and drivers (and keeping in mind that no amount of onscreen activity would make the frames go below 60 with a Ge3Ti 200 or Ti500 using the 23.11 drivers) I had to admit I wasn?t impressed and gave the card up rather easily. High benchmark + inferior game performance = PNY Ge4 Ti 4600. But again, this could apply to the Ge4 GPU in general, because it wasn?t a huge step like the Ge3 from Ge2. It?s just clocked faster and has Nview for multiple monitors.

But maybe a PNY Ge3 Ti 200 will operate more smoothly, who knows. Thanks for your opinion?

I am also looking at buying one of these depending on when the Ti4200 comes out. I have heard great things about the Gainward card. I think I will go with it if I dont get the 4200. Good luck.

I would look at brands Like Gainward,Leadtek & Elsa if you can still find their GF3 Ti200 cards for what you want.
