im just sitting here browsing and munching on some Mac 'N Cheese. I was just curious as to how other ppl make theirs?

This is how my roommates and I do it:

1) buy Kraft Mac 'N Cheese (blue boxes ya know) ;) Only this stuff as it tastes the best!
2) boil water w/ approx. 1 teaspoon of salt
The salt keeps the macarroni from sticking when u add it later.

3) add macarroni and stir
4) when al-dente, drain, do NOT wash!
5) add 1 teaspoon of butter (i hate butter) and add cheese sauce packet - STIR!
6) add 1/4 cup of milk w/ low heat on stove - STIR!
7) finally add 1 slice of american cheese and ketchup (add ketchup to taste!)
I didnt know about the keychup part till my roommates told me. It adds a lot of flavor and some zing!

So how you guys make it? BTW, mac 'n cheese is one my fav meals! :)

you basically just read the instructions off the box. except for part 7. whats so special about that?

heres how i make mine:
remove from lean cuisine carton
puncture holes 4 - 5 times
set on high 6 minutes.

wow, im special too.

thanks for sharing, i'll try if when I go home next week. Unlike some, i'm not afraid to try things out :) I always add extra cheese to mine to make it creamier. I may try a few new things next week, could be fun :)

I have been throwing a slice of pepper jack cheese in lately instead of american and I really like. Gives it a little kick. I just put in however much milk I want, I like it creamy, and throw a little butter in if I feel like it no measuring.

The salt doesn't keep it from sticking, it increases the boiling temperature of the water. If you add olive oil it won't stick, however I just follow the directions on the box, use a tbsp of butter, skim milk, and add a little tobasco, there is your zing :) Your way works too, but if you have some extra time, after you make the macrroni, put it in a baking dish, and spread slices of american cheese over the top and bake it untill the cheese is melted and the top is a little bit crispy (NOT burned)

weezergirl: mmmm the tabasco and popcorn sounds good :)

thedarkwolf: also, pepper jack, gonna have to try that. i luv pepper jack cheese on my burgers!

daishan: the oven idea sounds like a lot of extra work since that'd be an extra pan to wash, but the tabasco in macarroni - hmm never would've thought of that. :D

I really like spicy foods. I really wish I could eat some kimchi, but it's sooo fuggin expensive @ those azian stores. It's a pain in the @ss to make as well. :(

1)Buy cheapest box possible.. usually 3 or 4 for a dollar.

2)Boil water

3)Toss in pasta for a bit

4)Drain water

5)Mix in cheese water (nothing else)

6)Eat right out of pot.

Wow! Nice ideas... not sure about the katchup (how much?), but the Tobasco sounds really nice.

I've never "craved" Mac and Cheese before. Thanks for the ideas, I think I'll try it when I get home from school.

Easy Mac is godly. pour macaroni into bowl, cover with water, put in microwave for 2 1/2 minutes, add cheese mix, done. i like to add pepper to mine too. especially good after you've been drinking.

-pour water into the pot, and the macaroni ( i dont wait for it to boil)
-Let it get soft
-drain
-add twice as much butter as suggested (mmmmm.. butter ;)
-add cheese, stir
-add enough to milk to make mac and cheese sorta soupy, stir it in real well
- let sit on low heat for a few minutes
- eat and enjoy

i like my mac and cheese kinda soupy... some people like it really cheesey and thick-- and i just cant do that. The runnier the better. :)

When I used to make it I followed the recipe except a couple of things. I used olive oil to keep them from sticking instead of salt and I rinsed the noodles with cold water to stop the cooking. For me at least that made the noodles more firm and not so soggy.

Why don't you rinse off the pasta after you drain it ?

I like peas in my Mac & Che.
