I have an older spec rig still on the LGA 775 socket (Core 2 Quad 6600). Sadly PSU died and need a replacement. Other components include GTX 760,1 SSD, 1 DVD, and 1 SATA Drive.

Comments ripped on review for suggesting 550 W for average joe.

I will upgrade in the future but still stick with 1 GPU. Any recommends? Preference is for semi modular and less than $150 (cheaper is better)? If the newer, quieter designs work with my rig, that's great as well. I had a Seasonic before so I'm biased to that brand but I'll take quality wherever and as close to my wattage needs as possible.

Here's what I scrounged up:
Seasonic Focus SSR-450
SeaSonic Platinum Series SS-400FL2
SeaSonic S12II 430GB

EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G3
be quiet! PURE POWER 10-CM 500W

Any of those are perfectly fine. I'd just buy any decent quality PSU you catch on sale. You'll lose a little efficiency buying a larger than needed PSU, but with gold and above efficiency, it won't really be very much. I wouldn't pay anywhere near $100 for a platinum PSU for such an old system.

If you want to buy it at Newegg, I'd take a look at these unit:

And if you're an Amazon Prime customer, this is outstanding deal (a little bigger than you need, but not too bad):

But if you want to spend a little more for whatever reason, it won't hurt anything if you plan on reusing it in the future. I currently own a EVGA Supernova G3, G2, and P2 and a Seasonic Focus Plus Platinum, and they're all great power supplies that you can't go wrong with.
