Best Low Profile CPU cooler

I'm looking for a low profile (about the same height or slightly taller than the stock c2d coolers) fan and heat sink. I'm looking for one with the face of the fan parallel to the CPU. This is for a Lian Li PC-V1000 and I would prefer to maintain the airflow pattern Lian Li engineered as well as keep the CPU fan cover on. Any suggestions. I've considered the OCZ tempest CPU cooler and Zalman 8000, but most of the reviews on those say thy fall short on cooling capability.
