best looks

looking for a laptop under 1500, dont care much whats under the hood but going pretty much for aesthics, something along the vaio z1.

anyone have preferences?

Here are some in that price range I think look pretty nice. none of them are very powerful, but you said you didn't care.

The T series is the size of the Sony Z1 but you either like the way it looks or you don't. The apple is pretty nice though.

I'm pretty sure the T series he is refering to is the IBM Thinkpad T series. They are great laptops but not in the realm of what your looking for. They are pretty bland looking and cost alot more then most laptops but they are built like tanks and actually have competent tech support.

i checked for the 200x and 200xl on ebay, and you can get them for 300-400 cheaper off retail (with warranty)

if i can find an xl for 1300 then thats the one ill get.

didnt think gateway makes anything decent anymore 🙂

The 200 series are really good laptops I've owned a 200x since June of last year. Its solid I haven't had any problems whatsoever. The only qualm I have is with the stock 3 cell battery that lasts just a shade above 2 hours, you may want to invest in an extened life battery that lasts 4 hours.
